Guinea Bissau is a republic government run by President Manuel Serifo Nhamadjo(acting) They were declared independent in 1973, but were only recongnized in 1974. The Gross Domestic profit stood at $1.144 in 2011. The dominant ethnic group is Balanta, who make up more that 28% of the population, there are however, five more ethnic groups.
